Homework 1 (due monday 1/31/11)

  • PUM 3.4 – 3.11
  • At home, using a tape measure and stopwatch (given in class) to walk out different movements along a straight line. Describe the motion in three ways:
    • Verbally (example: Started at zero, walked forward 2m in 3seconds,  stopped for 2 seconds, etc…)
    • With a motion diagram.
    • With a position vs. time graph.

For any time period where you are moving, calculate your velocity. You must have at least 4 parts to the motion.

Please write out your homework in a word document and send me an email with your work attached. For the pictures, either draw in a program and insert into your document, or draw by hand and scan in or take a picture with a camera or phone.
Hand in by 6 pm the night before class.

Welcome Students!

Hi everyone and welcome to Physics with Mr. Levi!

I am very excited to have you in my class. On this site you will find a lot of useful tools and materials, as well as a place for you to contact me and even a scientific calculator! Feel free to explore the site, leave comments, and check out the useful links I have posted on the right side bar. Also at the bottom of the site will be a running database of Physics articles from the new york times.

Before we get started I would like you all to please complete my student survey. Answer everything to the best of your ability. Much of the information will help me get to know you and contact you.
